|
|
The years end is coming up and the Workmans Safety Insurance Board, (you know the one that helps "cough, cough" injured workers?????) is starting to do their year end cleaning!!! That means the Injured Workers who have major problems/injuries still, that all of a sudden are NOT work related, (but we can appeal it and wait 2-4 yrs. while not being paid anything) are being totally cut off our benefits.
Those of us single parent/or two parent families who made the mistake of going to work and one day and had the bad luck of being injured, will no longer be able to support their families. But, we are supposed to try and find jobs on strong meds, in severe pain that we can't do because we are still injured!! WSIB does not care about that though. The more people they get off the system (doesn't matter how), they get the bonuses (like 10%) for booting people. They argue and ignore family Dr.s and med. evidence. Not to mention factories that outright lie about job descriptions.
We are told tough luck and go and try and get Welfare.....and a lot can't get that. They have lost houses, commited suicide or split families up.......Theres lots of boxes we can sleep in with our kids, while we are fighting our legit claims!! We have to try and find Lawyers to work pro bono. The adjudicators act like Dr.s.....3 of them can tell you you do have a claim/work related, no problem. New legislation comes in, aong with new adjudicators and all of a sudden, yours is NOT work related.
You now have 10-16 wks. to find work because the new one says you are no longer injured......you're magically healed or it does not matter now. They will assume you are working after that time and say by, by, whether you find one or not?. So much for the injured workers. We did not ask to go to work and get injured on the job so that we can no longer support our families??? What a great system. I made it over 30 yrs. without getting hurt and when i do, i am getting screwed, along with a LOT of other SIW.
I want people to know what the so called WSIB is doing. I am not "milking the system" as some people call it. I have kids to support because there wasn't room in my marriage for 3 people. I was working and switched to a better paying job because he wasn't paying. I was doing a very heavy, fast paced, bend, crouch lift etc. job. I was hurt at work and 3 adjudicators agreed it was a work related on the job injury. They switched me (adjudicators) again just when the last one was trying to help me with dif. pain remedies like accupuncture etc..The last one cut my claim for the major injury off, even arguing with my Dr. because she KNOWS dif.
I now know a lot of people who have been put in this same position and are being cut off and told to find work, even when therapy wasn't working. One guy was walking with 2 canes and is expected to find work within 10 wks. or he is cut off either way. Most people don't know this goes on until they are injured and put in this position.
I like a few others are trying to start to get the word out, so the government who started this mess a few yrs. back will do something to help for a change. Nobody wants to be hurt at work, in constant pain, can't walk without losing feeling, can't sit or stand for long and have your family life changed around. We aren't looking for a handout, we are looking for better treatment, for the bullying of us by the adjudicators to stop and to get the help we need and to be listened to. I worked most of my life without being injured on the job ever. Now that i have been, i am treated like crap and am going to be out on the street with my kids?
Merry Christmas WSIB Adjudicators, we hope you are pleased with the people you hurt.....You must sleep good at night. |

| When I turn 65 my LOE ends forcing me out of a job and low paying job that they top up the rest of the country can work past 65 why does my LOE stop. Someone needs to start a Class Action Suit against this my benefits should not be cut off at 65 if I decide to work on. I can't be the only benefit recipient that feels like this |

If you are still impaired at age 65 LOE benifits will stop.
But loss of retirement income benifits may apply.

Go to workers, and type in LOE, it will give you all you need to know. |
