FOSTER CHILDREN -and- FOSTER FAMILIES

There are many children across this Country that, for whatever reason have become part of the System. The family that the children are assigned to makes every effort to make them feel welcome and does everything to make them feel as though they are part of the family. Having said that, I have a concern over something which I have seen happening on many occasions. Is it right for a Foster Family to be posting pictures of their Foster Children, along with their own children on Social Media Sites such as Facebook etc.? I don't have a problem with one posting pictures of their own children - But when it comes to Foster Children are their no legal or ethical concerns, considering the Foster Family has neither the Permission of Social Services or the childs parents to be posting pictures on an internet site? Any Opinions?? If you are a Foster Family - what do you think? Please do not turn this topic into a bash against Child Welfare Agencies -

I'm a former Crown Ward. If it's a long term/permanent placement situation where the child/youth is regarded as family, I don't see the issue with it. Chances are the people seeing the photos are in the foster parent's circle of friends/family and would already know that they had foster children in their care. I can also see the foster-children feeling left out or excluded if the foster parent only showed pics of their own biological children.

V. Rodney made some good points and I agree with his stance but if it is a short term placement then I think there is some violation of rights and privacy for the child as well as the biological family. I have friends who foster and never really thought about this before.

While you appear to have good intentions,
there are serious problems
that just about prevent the idea in anyway shape or form.

Additionally identification of such children and parents is
highly illegal and likely to get you into serious trouble.

There was a case in Kingston where a mother offended
the Kingston CAS with publicity and ended up loosing her children.

She was reportedly a great mother and her children's
relationship with her has been destroyed.

There are ways to deal with the CAS and identifying parties or children is not the way to go and could cause very
serious repercussions, like having your kids being made crown wards
for nothing more than speaking publicly.

It depends on your point of view.
The CFSA law is for Adoptive Parents and Foster parents who control the Childrens Aid Societies.

That being said, Foster parents do get to post family pics and that includes the foster kids so thats fine.

What is not "fine" is the lack of communication foster kids are allowed.
CAS use it as a way to destroy childrens relatioinships with their parents.

There are all sorts of Foster Parents and its often a way of the worst sort of people get to have absolute power over the kids many of whom who grow up abused.

The CAS end up abusing a large percentage of the kids that they are supposedly there to protect.

Another reason for Government Run, operated and controlled Child protection rather than a korupt ckam.

the Children's Aid Society won't tell you.


Before you agree, or sign anything,

that includes volunteer temporary custody over to the Society,

to PCA tests (parenting capacity assessments)


STOP! and contact us immediately.


Agreeing to parenting capacity assessments

is often giving CAS permission to do

an assessment that is rarely favourable

and most probably will be to enable

children to be kept in care that results

in massive billing to the Ontario Government.

Ontario is the only province in Canada that doesn't investigate the Children's Aid Society. They tried to knock us out of the picture before because of the very valuable information we give to struggling families.
