I personally would likely be disappointed with the
availability of channels in Canada with this system. |

| as far as I understand you will have to pay some kind of fees to see something worth watching. I have set up an over the air antenna for HDTV and it costs nothing except to buy the equipment then depending on where you are you can get high def for free. |

I have recently upgraded my HDTV antenna and now I get more channels, better reception, no pixel ization, etc.
Also.. I am now recording all my favourites onto HDD so that when I go out west I will have about a year worth of quality programming without the annoying Canadian Commercials or Don Cherry.
My next step will be to slingbox it to the west over the internet.
Looking for folks that would like to split the costs. |

OTA (over the air) TV is the way to go. In Guelph, ON, I just upgraded from an inside antenna that pulled in a few stations to one that I mounted on the roof. We now get 30+ digital channels. NO FEES!!
We got the antenna off a friend, but I'd guess it would cost about $50. Sure you're not going to get specialty channels, but if you're comparing it to basic cable... no contest. |

| I put up an antenna with a preamp and rotor and can get about a dozen channels in HI def. I also have satellite and the picture from my antenna is better quality than the dish which I pay for! |
